It has been 10 years since the dark days ended with the horrific bombing of district 13. The remaining districts obey their over powering government for fear of a bombing them selves. Since the end of the dark days the Capitol has implemented a reminder to the remaining districts to never do it again, it is called the Hunger Games. From each district one boy and one girl is selected to fight to the death in a televised arena that is required for all citizens to watch.
While the farming districts only seem to have gotten poorer the higher up districts have prospered with the favoritism of the government they are so close to.
There are rumors, small ones, that 13 was never actually destroyed, but still exists deep beneath the surface of what once was a prosperous district and is now a smoking reminder of what could be.
